The eight-week long campaign that was launched at Capital Shoppers, Ntinda is tailored towards encouraging the bank’s customers to embrace the use of alternative banking channels that are digitally-driven.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Beatrice Lugalambi, the General Manager Corporate Communications and Marketing, Centenary Bank, remarked that Centenary Bank currently has the biggest Agent banking network with close to 4,000 Agents countrywide.

“Our customers have the opportunity to bank in their neighborhoods during this festive season and be rewarded on top of enjoying the convenience it brings,” she said, adding that, “Last year, we rolled out our Visa Debit card to enable our customer to carry out cashless transactions in a more secure environment, and today, we are the largest issuers of Visa cards in the country with over 870,000 cards and this number will further increase by the end of the year.”

Lugalambi further noted that, “Our bank has made several enhancements and upgrades on the CenteMobile banking platform thus you our customers can now pay URA taxes using the CenteMobile and also use the MasterPass QR Code to pay for goods and services at various merchants and you will be rewarded for these transactions”.

These channels are meant to help minimize the need for customers to travel long distances to access services, since a good number of them live in the rural areas.

Other benefits that customers can enjoy are saving on their valuable time and transport costs as well as the convenience of transacting anytime, anywhere.

Immaculate Ngulumi, the Chief Manager Marketing and Branding explained that the Cente Christmas campaign will focus on promoting usage of three alternative channels namely; CenteAgent, CenteMobile and CenteVisa.

“Customers who transact a minimum of three times weekly using any of these channels will be rewarded with millions in cash, gift baskets and shopping bonanzas,” Ngulumi remarked.

The promotion is set to run for 8 weeks, during which period customers will be rewarded for transacting using CenteVisa, CenteAgents and CenteMobile.

The prizes are categorised into three tiers and will be awarded at the weekly draws held every Friday. “We shall then contact the winners to collect their prizes from their nearest branch.
For the first category (Grand prize); The Trolley Dash (Shopping Bonanza) 4 winners will be awarded per region every week and given 30 seconds to pick items in selected supermarkets from isles and sections that will clearly be marked with a shopping limit of Shs. 200,000.”

Gift Hampers; These hampers will be won by 10 customers per region every week. Each hamper with goodies worth Shs100,000 will be picked up from a designated Centenary Bank branch countrywide.

The winners will be contacted and advised on the collection point – a Centenary Bank branch nearest to the customer.

Cash Prize; Every week, customers will win cash prizes and winners will have their bank accounts credited directly.

The country-wide Cente Christmas campaign will see over 1,500 bank customers win throughout the promotion between now and end of December, 2019.
