Quiin Abenakyo, the just crowned Miss World Africa will be returning home this week.
Shortly after her crowning, the ministry of tourism came out and indicated their interest to appoint her as Uganda’s tourism ambassador.
They have since been talking to her and her handlers but nothing had materialised as yet.
This is not surprising because going by Abenakyo parents’ statements shortly after winning the crown, the most beautiful woman in Africa went through a hard time to make it to China for the competition.
Her parents say government never helped them in any way, and the only time they were coming on board was after her victory. With such treatment, must be chasing other deals with international agencies over Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).
UTB’s boss came out last week and admitted that much as they want to appoint Abenakyo as Uganda’s tourism ambassador, no deal had been reached yet.
He added that their plan now is to engage her once she returns.
