Mizizi Sounds of the Nile now in its second edition returns this month.
The festival is an amazing new Festival organised by Mizizi Ensemble portraying Uganda’s impressive cultural heritage to the world.
But it is much more than a Festival since the organisers groom locally known artists to become artists the whole world wants to listen to and watch.
The festival does not only create a platform for local artists to showcase their gifted talent at the annual Mizizi Sounds of the Nile Festival, but also runs a 3-year mentorship program to help the artist professionalize their skills.
“Every year we will travel around Uganda identifying and scouting for locally known artists who share with us our vision to create a platform that will popularize indigenous arts and cultural tourism development through professionalism and modernisation of cultural heritage.
“Selected artists will participate in a 3-year training and mentorship programme conducted by Mizizi Ensemble and the famous Cheick Tidiane Seck. The annual Mizizi Sounds of the Nile Festival will showcase Ugandan rich culture blended with sounds from world famous artists of African origin.”
