The police has revealed that Moses Angoria, a security guard who shot dead a client, Arnold Mugisha at quality Supermarket Naalya is steadily recovering.
According to Kampala Metropolitan deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, Angoria’s health has improved and soon he will be recording a statement about the shooting.
Angoria was Tuesday rushed to Mulago Hospital in a bad state following a beating from boda boda men who attempted to lynch him.
Meanwhile the family of Mugisha has asked government to recall all guns currently owned by private security companies.
They blame the death on recklessness on the part of security guards and tribalism.
“I believe my son was killed because he is a Munyankore…..,” his father, Plan Mugisha told the congregation Wednesday during a requiem mass held at All Saints Cathedral.
According to police’s preliminary finding, the deceased and two other colleagues went to the supermarket for shopping and after shopping, they released a trolley, which knocked one of the cars in the parking.
The askari, attempted to stop them but in the process of reversing, the deceased knocked Askari Babu Awaze.
This prompted an exchange of words between the two Security guards and the three customers.
The other guard, Angoria allegedly rushed to the sentry box where he picked his SAR gun and shot at the car from the co-driver’s seat. The bullet pierced through and ended up in Mugisha’s mouth.
He was rushed to Independent Hospital, located in Ntinda, Nakawa Division from where he was later pronounced dead.
