The second Annual Arts and Cultural Festival slated for 1st -3rd November at the National Theatre will be celebrated under the theme “Culture for Sustainable Tourism”.

According to the organisers, the edition will be a new show as a performing cultural troupe from India will be coming in to entertain and experience Uganda’s cultural diversity.

The festival is focused on showcasing and promoting Uganda’s culture, creating opportunities for women and the youth and at the same time link culture to tourism for purposes of community development.

Some of the performers lined up at this year’s festival include; Basoga Bakoberawa, Batwa Cultural Troupe, Alur Kingdom, Super Eagle and Tukole Namanyi Community Association.

The others are; Afrigo Band, Myko Ouma, Sarah Ndagire, Nandujja & the Planets, Haki Mukiga, Sali Muserebende and others.

The festival will also see the official launch of the cultural museum whose focus will be on promoting and popularising Uganda’s vast culture to the rest of the world.

It will exhibit the tangible cultural and natural heritage of our country — a collection of artifacts and other symbols from all the 65 ethnic groups found in Uganda.
